Thompson's Station

Small town roots. A new chapter taking shape.

Historic countryside, growing neighborhoods and a way of life that still feels a little more tucked away.

My Thompson's Station Perspective

Close to Franklin. Distinctly its own.

Thompson's Station sits just south of Franklin, and in many ways the transition between the two feels almost seamless. You can be minutes from the restaurants, shopping and everyday conveniences of Franklin while coming home to a place that still feels smaller, quieter and closer to the countryside.

What I like about Thompson's Station is the mix. There are historic properties and rolling hills, established neighborhoods filled with everyday life, newer communities taking shape and some significant growth on the horizon. Somehow, it still feels grounded in its small-town roots.

It's a place I think buyers can easily overlook when they're relocating here. And then I drive them through it.

That's usually when it starts to make sense.

Rooted Here

The history isn't decoration. It's part of the landscape.

The story of Thompson's Station reaches back to the earliest settlement of Williamson County. Historic places such as Homestead Manor and the town's preserved buildings are reminders that this community existed long before today's growth began.

That history is also reflected in the land itself. Preservation Park protects approximately 200 acres in the heart of town, with trails leading through the landscape and to an elevated overlook with beautiful views across the countryside.

Finding Your Place

A closer look at the neighborhoods.

01

Established + Active

Canterbury

One of Thompson's Station's most recognizable communities, Canterbury is especially popular with families. Drive through after school and you'll understand why. Sidewalks, neighborhood amenities and a community that feels very much lived in give it an active, connected feel.

02

Spacious + Elevated

Bridgemore Village

Across from Canterbury but with a different feel, Bridgemore Village offers larger homes, more custom architecture, generous homesites and strong neighborhood amenities.

03

Village + Connected

Tollgate Village

For buyers who like a neighborhood with places to actually go, Tollgate offers a more connected lifestyle with homes alongside neighborhood businesses, coffee, casual dining and community gathering spaces.

04

Smaller + Newer

Avenue Downs + Littlebury

Smaller and newer communities such as Avenue Downs and Littlebury offer another option for buyers drawn to newer homes and a more intimate neighborhood setting.

05

What's Next

Fountain View

Fountain View represents another side of Thompson's Station's growth, bringing new residential development and a more connected mixed-use vision to the area. For buyers considering newer construction, understanding what exists today and what's planned for tomorrow is an important part of choosing where to buy.

Life Here

Small-town charm, with plenty to experience.

A morning at 1819 Coffee on the historic Homestead Manor property. A hike through Preservation Park when you need some space and a view. Dinner at Circa Grill. Time with friends at Company Distilling. And on concert nights, some very big names arrive at FirstBank Amphitheater, dramatically tucked into the area's former quarry landscape.

Around Tollgate, neighborhood businesses, coffee, casual restaurants and everyday conveniences add another layer to life here.

That combination is part of Thompson's Station's charm. The town itself is small, but life here doesn't feel disconnected.

Looking Ahead

What's coming matters, too.

Thompson's Station is changing, and that's part of the conversation I want buyers to understand.

New residential development is expanding the ways people can live here, while Sagefield represents one of the area's most significant projects on the horizon. The planned development near I-65 and I-840 is envisioned as an elevated retail, dining, hospitality and entertainment destination.

For buyers, growth can create opportunity, but it also makes understanding location, future development and the character of each pocket increasingly important. That's part of what we'll look at together.

Outside

A little more room to breathe.

Preservation Park is one of the places that best captures Thompson's Station. Its trails, natural landscape and hilltop views give you a sense of the countryside without leaving town.

Sarah Benson Park and Heritage Park add to the town's parks and community spaces, while the surrounding countryside remains an important part of what gives Thompson's Station its character.
